Visa Information

 Students from the following countries may NOT require a visa for periods up to 90 days:

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria**, Belgium**, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria*, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus*, Czech Republic*, Denmark*, El Salvador, Estonia*, Finland*, France**, Germany***, Greece*, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary*, Iceland, Ireland*, Israel, Italy*, Japan, Latvia*, Liechtenstein*, Lithuania*, Luxembourg**, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, The Netherlands*, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland*, Portugal**, Republic of Korea, Romania*, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic*, Slovenia*, Spain**, Sweden*, Switzerland**, United Kingdom*, USA, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela. Other visa exemptions:

- Holders of British Nationals (Overseas) passports;

- Chinese nationals, who are holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR);

- MACAO citizens in possession of a “Regio Administrativa Especial de Macao”;

- Holders of passports bearing the inscription “Sovereign Military Order of Malta”;

- Holders of travel documents issued to refugees in accordance with the Geneva Convention of 1951, provided issued by one of the signatory states of the Strasbourg Agreement of 1959;

- Holders of travel documents issued to refugees and stateless persons and other persons, who do not hold the nationality of a country but who reside in an EU or EEA Member State, including Switzerland and who are holders of a travel document issued by that country;

Notes:

- Visas to holders of Turkish and Tunisian passports are to be issued free. Visas to holders of Moroccan and Algerian passports are to be issued at half the visa fee;

- Visas to holders of Libyan passports are subject to 10 Libyan Dinars for the issuance of visa. All visa applicants except for Libyan, Turkish and Tunisian passport holders are subject the equivalent of 10€ administration charge irrespective of whether visa is issued or not;

- Visitors requiring a visa to enter Malta and who undertake day trips of less than 24 hours to another country are exempted from applying and paying for another visa on their re-entry to Malta.

Students of other nationalities can apply for visas at their consulate in their respective country or at the Maltese Embassy. Elanguest will provide a letter of acceptance to students who are eligible to apply. This is required by the immigration authorities. Should students need a visa extension while they are in Malta, we are also able to help them.
